Seminar MAKING DIFFERENT REALITIES VISIBLE: ANTONPLATZ by Larissa Fassler

Seminar MAKING DIFFERENT REALITIES VISIBLE: ANTONPLATZ by Larissa Fassler

March 12 – 14, 2019, 10 am – 1 pm

Many thanks to the artist Larissa Fassler for her seminar MAKING DIFFERENT REALITIES VISIBLE: ANTONPLATZ and discussing the works of our participants within the Studio Pogram at BAI | Berlin Artist Residency & Art School.

“For a good 10 years, Larissa Fassler has been developing a practice of exploring public urban spaces, examining their material impact on its inhabitants. She often focuses on national emblems, and the disconnect between a nation’s self-image and the facts on the ground. While Fassler uses media of architectural representation – such as models and plans – her work differs fundamentally from conventional forms of documentation among architects and urban planners. Public spaces are accounted for by walking their edges, counting steps, recording corporeal experience and spending hundreds of hours collecting detailed observations.

The seminar/workshop at BAI will explore tools of mapping, precise way of looking and observing, and various strategies to make different realities visible.” (Text by courtesy of Larissa Fassler)
