Many thanks to the artist Niklas Goldbach for his lecture about “ARCHITECTURE AND ETHICS” as part of the international BAI Spring Academy and providing a comprehensive insight for our participants into the evolution and creation of his artistic practice and projects.
“We move through the city, we live in houses. Architecture is all around us, and always is influencing our lives. Architecture can provide safety, or it can be a threat. Architecture can carry uncountable stories, and it transports history. Architecture also appears in films and photography – as a background, a room, a house, a street, a special part of town or as a specific style. Its reading in the lense based arts can be personal, political, documental or fictional.
Niklas Goldbach speaks about the impact of architecture in his works. In his videos, photographies and installations, Niklas Goldbach is involved in the relation between architecture and ethics within modern traditions and postmodern cities. Established between reality and fiction, Goldbach’s works use architectural concepts and elements to create ambiguous perceptions of man-made environments.” (Niklas Goldbach)
