Many thanks to the artist Prof. Kerstin Cmelka for her lecture Live Performance and Performance for Camera, Immersive Environments and Interactive Situations and discussing the works of our participants within the Studio Program at BAI | Berlin Artist Residency, Art School, Arts Incubator, and Live Online Courses & Classes.
“Current performance works in the context of the visual arts increasingly present themselves as multimedia events and immersive parcours in which dance, acting, singing, music, sound effects, video and VR often merge into one another. It therefore seems interesting to take a closer look at the different media parameters that constitute a performance. How do the formats of live performance, performance for camera, filmic documentation and film version of a performance differ from and at the same time depend on each other? And what are the artistic potentials when looking at historical and current performance works?” (Text by courtesy of Kerstin Cmelka)
