Many thanks to the director & partner Diandra Donecker introducing our participants to the philosophy, history, status quo & future of the auction house Grisebach and Dr Anna von Ballestrem guiding us through the exhibition Wachstumsschmerz. The visit is part of the BAI Studio Program | Berlin Artist Residency, Art School, Arts Incubator, and Live Online Courses & Classes.

“About the exhibition
The exhibition shows works by 30 students and graduates of the class Julia Schmidt of the Academy of Fine Arts Münster. The examination of the medium of painting and its interfaces with other media forms the starting point for a diverse, continuous exploration of its possibilities and limits. Through painting, drawing, text, sculpture, photography, and installation, the students engage with aesthetic, biographical, and sociopolitical issues. In the context of the exhibition Wachstumsschmerz, a particular focus is on the investigation of economic contexts and the relationship between motif, material, work and exhibition site, as well as the associated value of artistic work.” (Text by courtesy of Grisebach)
