Many thanks to the artist Sascha Boldt for his online lecture Remote Desk Life Connection and discussing the works of our participants within the Studio Program at BAI | Berlin Artist Residency, Art School, Arts Incubator, and Live Online Courses & Classes.
“Art and lockdown. During the actual Covid-19 crisis home office became a usual way to work. The “remote desktop connection” is one of the major tools to enter servers and computers via internet, and display data in the same way like you are physically at that same computer or server olaced far away. The lecture deals with similar strategies within (my) art. How can archives be used to become art? How can you modify sources into styles? How can you connect real life experiences with virtual footage? Some samples in the lcture build a starting point to connect both, the life in the world outside, and at the desk or workplace in the artist studios of the participants.” (Text by courtesy of Sascha Boldt)
