Lecture THINKING REALITY TODAY by Marcus Steinweg

August 25, 2016, 10 am – 1 pm

Many thanks to the philosopher Marcus Steinweg for his lecture THINKING REALITY TODAY.

“Psychoanalysis tells us that all realities which compromise my supposed self present a narcissistic offense-taking. You’re offended if you arm yourself with a fantasy of integrity that is an idealistic construction. Why should the world orient itself on my fantasies? The real of reality consists in its indifference to everything imaginary. You could describe emancipation as pulling back from the logic of being offended, resisting illusions and projections that minimize our compatibility with reality, without assimilating to a fantasy of reality and a religiosity of facts whose function is to mitigate the heterogeneity, incommensurability, and inconsistency of the fiction known as reality.“ (Marcus Steinweg)
