Lecture DRAWING AND SPACE by Ursula Döbereiner

December 15, 2016, 10 am – 1 pm

Many thanks to the artist Ursula Döbereiner for her lecture “Drawing and Space” and discussing the works of our participants.

“Drawing as note, scribble, text, reminder, notation, score, instruction, guidance, medium of communication, question, annotation, visualization of an idea, mark, temporary sketch of an idea, or as a completely immediate medium of expression and representation. Drawing always deals with both marked space and space left blank. This concerns spatial representation, space within the image as well as drawing as conceptual space and the relation of drawing to real space. Besides my own work, my talk deals  with the examination of the manifold potential of drawing. In doing so, the picturing possibilities of drawing are equally important as its abstract, structural and methodical aspects.(Ursula Döbereiner)
