Vielen Dank an die Kuratorin, Herausgeberin und Autorin Louisa Elderton für ihr Seminar „CRITICALLY CREATIVE: WRITING ART“ und die Textbesprechungen mit unseren TeilnehmerInnen.
“What is ‘art writing’ — writing about art; artful writing? How might we categorise it? What might it comprise? And why does it even matter?
This seminar seeks to explore these questions, looking at what art writing is or could be — both its creative and critical aspects. We’ll look at examples of writing by Maggie Nelson, Ali Smith and Olivia Laing, among others, and think about how art writing mediates objects as a means of reflecting not only on the art itself, but also upon the world at large and, often, the self. We’ll also do our own writing, individually and as a class, building up a body of work through shared exercises.” (Text by courtesy of Louisa Elderton)
