Many thanks to the artist Nina Katchadourian for her lecture Weird Years in the Studio: 2020-2023 and discussing the works of our participants within the Studio Program at BAI | Berlin Artist Residency, Art School, Arts Incubator, and Live Online Courses & Classes.
“Nina Katchadourian often works with constraints and limitations as part of her practice. During the unusual conditions of the past years, however, several projects emerged that were fundamentally—and not negatively—affected by the working circumstances of those years. In this artist’s talk, she will speak about her work from the past three years with a particular focus on her traveling solo exhibition, “To Feel Something That Was Not of Our World,” which focuses on the the story of Robertson family’s shipwreck in 1972 and the 38 days adrift in the Pacific Ocean that followed.
