Exhibitions
404 | BAI is the display of the BERLIN ART INSTITUTE. 404 is derived from the numeric designation of the building—represented by the historical building sign—while also referring to the well-known HTTP status code: 404 Not Found, familiar from the internet. In conceptual terms, this meaning is reflected in the flexible and temporary structure of the exhibition activities in alternating formats and in different spaces on-site and outside of the BAI.
In addition to planned and curated exhibitions, the program of 404 | BAI offers opportunities for spontaneous projects and short-term usages. The concept continues to provide for presentations and exhibitions by visiting lecturers and external artists, as well as guest curators and partner institutions. 404 | BAI takes annually part in ART SPRING BERLIN.
