Why is the monster divine? What is divinity in contemporary culture? Why is it a part of non-anthropocentrism?
In-class Exercise 3:
New Found Beings
In-class writing and drawing using found, re-named objects
Participants will re-name and write an origin story for one object i.e. a tin can=nose, how does this new being exist/eat/sleep/move, what is its “function”?
Each participant will draw their re-named objects, creating new hybrid-monsters
Jasmine will prompt/support participants during the writing/drawing exercise.
Breakout Groups
Participants will share results/stories and discuss the characters in small breakout groups.
