Hi, I don’t really believe in technical fetishes 🙂
as long as your device is doing what you want it to do, there is no real difference anymore.14. July 2025 at 09:47 in reply to: Eclectic echoes of the Saint-Laurent Boulevard – Nadine Allard #60561Hi Matthew, please re-upload in a separate post! thanks
congratulations, Lavinia !! looking forward to speak about it on tuesday !!
14. July 2025 at 09:42 in reply to: Eclectic echoes of the Saint-Laurent Boulevard – Nadine Allard #60559Hi Nadine,
congratulations ! I agree with kate, this might be a good sujet for a book. makes sense, somehow..
stylistically, I preferred the arrangements with more “white”, more “space”.. but thats just a question of layout.
lets speak on tuesday!
Hi Aum,
interesting choices – congratulations!
can u share your magazine style / Plattform /app?looking forward to speak on tuesday,
niklascongratulations, ruben… fascinating topic! see you on tuesday!
Hi Tim,
congratulations!
I like this very much – happy to speak on tuesday. do you have more photographs that might fit this series ?
Hi Kate,
congratulations!what would be your favorite 8 photos ?
speak tuesday,
best,
niklasThank you for uploading these photos; they are just as impressive as the installation itself. The challenge with photographing something as intricate and fascinating as these light installations in a night life / event context is that it naturally becomes a documentation of another artistic work… You’ve done a great job capturing the complexity of the lighting, which is no easy feat. While I wouldn’t necessarily see it as a standalone photographic artwork, it’s still a technically impressive achievement.
did you photograph with a phone ? its technically A LOT more demanding with a DSLR/Fullframe/analogue camera and an interesting task!Hi David, thanks for uploading your projects! It’s impressive to see you working on two different ideas. First, about the “Super Close-up Epidermis” series: it’s fascinating how you blend the textures of skin and cacti. One suggestion would be to avoid organizing the images in a grid of nine, as it resembles the Instagram aesthetic and might not do justice to your original format. In general, though, I could imagine these images being printed large for full impact.
As for the “Chosen Blindness” project, it’s also really intriguing. Just a note: these places may hold a certain fascination for you because you know their history, but that subtlety might not translate as strongly to the audience. Regarding the format, same suggestion: avoid the grid, as it enhances banality! have you thought of COMBINING texts with these photographs ?
lets speak about it on tuesday! congratulations!
Hi Christiane, thanks for uploading – this is a really interesting project, and I share your fascination with in-between spaces and their potential for imagination. I was surprised by the color photos, as they feel more mundane and less mysterious than your previous black-and-white uploads.. Try revisiting these places at different times of day – early morning, dusk, or even at night – to discover new moods. Also experiment with different lenses or cameras if possible; are you working with an iPhone or DSLR?
If you’re working with a phone, get closer… For example, the bus stop in image 3 could be more compelling if you focused on the partially hidden bench instead of the street… in other words, “composing”, “creating” a photograph might end up more rewarding than “collecting” locations!Hi Indira,
thank you for uploading the work – and for all the effort you’ve put into it! I really like the topic: it’s strong, relevant, and has real social impact. I’d like to share a few overall suggestions to help highlight and deepen your idea:
Go back.
Ideally at least two more times, and at different times of the day.
The Koli people in the village will start to recognize you, and with time, they’ll trust you more. That trust will allow for different kinds of images. Why I’m suggesting this:
Your series, your suggestion, your selection – they’re all strong. But the current photos are still shaped by the light – and by the visible distance between you and the people. Looking at the two pages I immediately missed some classic portraits, because the people stay relatively hidden. also some detail shots might help.NEVERTHELESS: for a first time visit to a new location AND a new project this is highly impressive!! congratulations!
Hi Karsten,
great project! I hope it’s okay if I offer a bit more constructive feedback than usual – it really comes from a place of wanting to help sharpen and focus your project idea:
It’s great that you photographed the ladies as part of a personal experience, but the photo doesn’t really contribute to the overall theme of the series.
As viewers, we don’t know that the bridge is new – we just see a bridge. So photo 1 (without the ladies) and photo 3 might hold more meaning for you than they do for us.
The last four images are really strong – great work there. This is where the project idea becomes clear, we don’t need to “travel” to it.
best, niklasWell put.
can u upload a pdf which includes the single images ?

Hi, these are quite uncanny ! in a good way.
from an experimental film from the 60s.
I personally don’t need no. 1 as an “introduction”7. July 2025 at 12:20 in reply to: Of people and buildings – Volodymyr Duchenchuk – Berlin Transit #60338fascinating idea. what a shame I limited you to 5 photographs 🙂
7. July 2025 at 12:18 in reply to: Of People & Buildings – Kate Harold – Laguna Beach is California Cool #60337Hi, to me, no.4 does not really fit. its a different narrative (irony) and obv. in a different format (portrait).
love 1 & 2yes. she is a very good reference. your no. 4. is SO cinematic, its very good. try to change no. 5
This will be very interesting to speak about. I will probably try to convince you to give it another try 🙂 love the hauntology/fisher reference, great topic for a photo project.

Hi, love the text as well.. maybe try to combine it with the photos ?
great topic!yes.
how did “Maybe I can just sit with this discomfort, accept I am like this, and open up a bit more” work for you ?
Its probably a good idea to use these pics as material for something else (for transfer into sth else). where ist this place ? I know these carpets…Hi, lets speak tomorrow about some formal decisions. I love the topic, but have to admit its very difficult if its “your own world”. but good to talk about !!
