WEEK 4: Nature in Sci-fi

This session will look at how nature is presented in sci-fi narratives. How a landscape or a terrain becomes an effecting actor, or how it becomes a psychological landscape, extending the anthropic principle into analogies of ecologies and nature’s time. We will also look at methods in permaculture where observation is used to understand a natural space in which to develop a garden. From these examples we will consider the terrain or map as a format to produce work and research.

We may take a look at what some participants have produced over the course, and discuss personal modes of enquiry and research that can be carried on post-course.
