WEEK 1: The Home of Art

Artist Talk: Why art in the home?

Dagmara Genda will open the course with a home exhibition she curated in 2019. Faced with an eviction and living alone with her partner in a Berlin apartment block, she seized the opportunity to turn attention to the still existent housing crisis and create new in-situ work. Eight artists were invited to complete new site-specific works for a home that was on the brink of disappearing.
