16. Mai 2017, 10 – 13 Uhr

Vielen Dank an die Kuratorin, Herausgeberin und Autorin Louisa Elderton für ihren Vortrag „WORKING WITH ARTISTS, FROM SPACE TO PAGE und die Arbeitsbesprechungen mit unseren TeilnehmerInnen.

“This lecture will look at the role of the Curator/Editor/Writer, how we work with artists, why, and the processes involved.

Louisa Elderton (b. 1983, London, UK. Lives and works in Berlin and London) will give an overview of her career (to-date) as a contemporary art curator, writer and editor (2007–2017), with accompanying images. During this introduction, she will share her first-hand experiences of curating exhibitions across the public and private sectors of the contemporary art world, having worked with The Courtauld Gallery (London), The Ultra Lounge at Selfridges (London), Tate (London), Jerwood Visual Arts (London), Blain|Southern (London and Berlin).

This will culminate in a discussion of the current exhibition that she has curated for the non-profit organization Decad (Berlin), Christopher Petit: In What’s Missing, Is Where Love Has Gone. Petit is broadly a filmmaker and writer, and for the exhibition he has created a new body of artworks that include photography, video, writing and a sound piece. We will watch/listen to a selection of extracts from Petit’s films and sound works, discussing these as such.

Currently working as the Editor of Phaidon’s next Vitamin publication (Vitamin C: Clay & Ceramics), she will also discuss the contents of this book, comprising 102 artists, and her experiences of working with this London-based publishing company.” (Louisa Elderton)
